Notice of Annual License Fee Adjustment

Dear Carbon Software Users,
We at OCTONUS Group of Companies have unwaveringly supported the diamond processing industry for over 30 years, providing cutting-edge and globally recognized technology solutions.
Our mission is to lead through innovation by building and maintaining comprehensive knowledge systems and making them available for the benefit of our industry partners. We don’t just stay ahead of technological changes — we drive them.
In 2020, we decided to change our one-time software license fee model to separate it into two parts: a considerably smaller first-year license fee and an annual license fee from the 2nd year onwards. The need for an increase in the yearly license fee to account for inflation every year was deferred in the last five years. Our development and support expenses have increased considerably in these 5 years. To account for this, we have to increase our annual license fee by 20% from September 2025 onwards. Every year, the annual license fee will be adjusted to take care of yearly inflation thereafter.
To ease this transition, we have decided to have the annual license fee increase from 0% increase in June 2025 to 20% increase by June 2026. This is planned as under:
A 5% adjustment will be applied to each of the four quarterly invoices issued on:
- 5% adjustment for invoices raised on September 1, 2025
- 10% adjustment for invoices raised on December 1, 2025
- 15% adjustment for invoices raised on March 1, 2026
- 20% adjustment for invoices raised on June 1, 2026
